Accessibility Information

Underdog Bookstore is located on Myrtle Ave with a public lot behind the store on Palm Ave. Accessible parking spaces are available in the Palm Ave lot and street parking on Myrtle. There are limited curb cuts if you are street parking, and parking may be impacted by street closures on Fridays due to the Monrovia Street Fair.  

The sidewalks in front of the store are accessible and we have a step-free 43" entrance. Staff are seated by the door and happy to assist with the manual door. Our front counter is 28.5" tall with an ipad register that can be easily moved to whichever spot is most accessible. 

Inside the store, we have smooth laminate flooring with no steps or inclines. Shelves on either side of the store are mostly fixed with moveable center tables. The aisle width is 44-50". 

Please ask for access to the all-gender staff restroom in the back of the store if needed. The nearest public accessible restrooms are located Monrovia Public Library. 

Seating is available including plastic chairs with fixed arms, or open couches.  Due to the small size and narrow layout of the store, during seated events the space can feel crowded and maneuverability may be more challenging.
