Join a new group penpal project meeting once a month to write letters to incarcerated LGBTQ+ people.

Power Blossoms is an abolitionist organization bringing together queer and trans people on both sides of prison walls in the fight against hierarchies and State oppression.

For incarcerated trans and queer people, penpal correspondence is often the only connection they have to people on the outside. LGBTQ+ people also face increased isolation within prisons—such as being placed in solitary confinement “for their own protection.” This makes having outside support all the more important.

For those who can’t commit to a recurring penpal, one-time birthday cards may be an option.
